Two charities are better off to the tune of £3,000 thanks to support from the team here at  Swindon’s Optimum Professional Services – and another has been selected to benefit from our help during 2021.

Fundraising efforts – including a quiz (held in February last year, before the first lockdown) – topped £3,000, which will be split equally between the two good causes: mental health charity Wiltshire MIND and children’s cancer charity CLIC Sargent.

The team also raised money from Swindon Half Marathon sponsorship, bake-offs and dress-down days, and all donations made to our Swindon legal team for witnessing documents were put into the pot.

Locally, we helped Swindon Food Collective in the run up to Christmas, by collecting enough donations to fill eight crates. Plus we support many national fundraising events, like Christmas Jumper Day.

During 2021, we’re delighted to announce we have selected the Youth Adventure Trust (YAT) as our charity partner. Based in Wiltshire, YAT uses outdoor activity to change the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged children aged 11 to 15.

“We’re proud our team take time to support a different charity each year, and to help other good causes along the way,” says Rob Stokes, Head of Audit & Accounts at Optimum. “Even during the pandemic, despite many of our fundraising plans having to be cancelled, we have tried to help as much as possible.”

Philippa Cox, Corporate Partnerships Manager at YAT, adds: “We are delighted to be working with Optimum Professional Services and their staff. Together we will be able to positively transform vulnerable young people who live and go to school within a three mile radius of their office.”

We are looking forward to working with and helping YAT and are now seeing what fundraising ideas we can come up with. We may even put on our walking shoes and take part in YAT’s 10 Peaks Challenge in July!
