The team here at Optimum are hoping to beat last year’s record, by collecting even more donations for Swindon’s food bank.
And to help boost the haul still further, we’re encouraging clients and visitors to pop items into our reception.
Last year, we collected enough to fill eight large crates for Swindon Food Collective, and already donations are coming in.
“As a team, we are great at coming together to do our bit to help the community,” said Tracey Heath, Optimum’s Practice Manager.
“We always have a main charity we support throughout the year and we like to help others along the way. This year and next year, we are raising funds for Youth Adventure Trust and have already raised more than £2,500.”
At this time of year, Swindon Food Collective in particular wants Christmas items, including mince pies, Christmas puddings and cakes, boxed chocolates and biscuits, gravy granules and boxes of stuffing, Christmas crackers and children’s toiletries. Everyday items, like tinned meat, fruit or fish, toiletries, pet food, cereal and cleaning products are also needed.
Donations should be dropped in by December 2, to our headquarters at Vicarage Court, 160 Ermin Street, Stratton, Swindon, SN3 4NE.
