We’re delighted to welcome three new recruits to our audit and accountancy team.
The trio of appointments represent youth and experience, as two are trainees new to the profession and the third has been in accountancy for a decade.
Zach Bunce and Callum Morton have joined the team as accounts and audit trainees, and are already getting stuck into their new career, learning how to prepare and then audit accounts.
Both hailing from Swindon, they are learning on the job as well as at college. Zach, who took an AS Level in accounting, said: “I had been working in financial services and wealth management, but I was interested in accountancy for a career so am very happy to have started with Optimum.”
Callum, who has AAT Level 2, said he is looking forward to starting his accountancy career. “I was working in customer service for retail and leisure, but I wanted a career with great prospects and decided accountancy was for me.”
The third new recruit is Carol Conway, who joins as Accounts Assistant. Carol has worked in accountancy practice for at least ten years, mainly in Swindon but with a short spell in Cirencester, and will support the accountancy team. Her experience covers bookkeeping, accounts, payroll and tax returns.

“We think it is important to bring new talent into the profession, and we also value experience, so appointing all three is a great combination. The opportunity to bring in a new generation provides a different perspective for us and bringing external experiences is also valuable to our firm’s development and growth.”
