A great day was had by all at the eighth annual TWIGS clay shoot, which raised £6,000 – the biggest amount yet.
The event was sponsored by Optimum Professional Services, and we entered two teams, one headed by Jon Lacey and the other by Michael Blaken. There was some rivalry between the two, but in the end Michael’s team, Lock Stock, was triumphant.
In the overall competition, the winning team (for the second year running) was Marston Brickwork, the winning flush team was the Hannick Hustlers. High gun went to Brian Robinson, lady’s high gun to Hannah Cleverley and the wooden spoon to The Barbars.
A great event all round, and a good fundraiser for TWIGS, the Swindon-based community garden scheme which supports people with mental health problems, addiction and dementia.
The date for next year has been set for Wednesday 25 September 2019.
