Legal Services

The legal team here at Optimum are specialists and experts, so we really know the ins and outs of our area of law: property law, wills and probate. And because we specialise in these areas, we can focus on the real issues that affect our clients daily: property sales and purchase, buying land, drawing up a will, dealing with probate, powers of attorney and so on. We offer the same approach to all our clients: we listen carefully, we use our expertise to come up with the best course of action for you, and we deal with your issue in a professional, responsive manner keeping you informed every step of the way.

Straightforward legal advice from an experienced law team you can trust.

Iain Mason

Head of Legal Property Services

Iain is our Head of Legal Property Services, overseeing Optimum’s busy legal department, which covers conveyancing, wills and probate.

During his career, Iain has worked with a range of clients across the South West and the UK, from large corporates to individuals and renewable energy providers. He was also part of the legal team working with the Homes and Communities Agency, helping with the regeneration of Swindon’s town centre.

His favourite pastime is skiing (he says it’s the adrenaline rush he loves). He admits he once entered another country without permission – but that’s all he will divulge!

Alison Griffiths

Wills and Probate Solicitor

Alison is our Wills and Probate Solicitor, administering taxable estates, advising people on wills and lasting powers of attorney, as well as providing trust and tax advice.

She has been a qualified solicitor for 16 years, and spent most of her career with high street
solicitors’ firms before joining Optimum.

In her spare time, Alison enjoys socialising with friends and family, which may involve the occasional glass of wine! She also is a short story writer and we hope one day she will get into print.

Karen is our Conveyancing Executive, dealing with house sales, house purchases, re-mortgages and transfer of equity on behalf of her clients.

She has worked in the legal profession for more than 34 years, beginning as an office junior in a solicitors’ office when she left school.

Away from the office, Karen enjoys weekends away with her partner in their campervan going to shows and festivals – time for Karen to chill, relax, get some fresh air and enjoy a nice G&T or two!

Tracey is Optimum’s Practice Manager, who deals with everything from managing our client database to making sure we don’t run out of tea and coffee.

She has worked for most of her career in secretarial and admin roles, although briefly ran a pub with her partner but (in her words) “saw sense” and returned to office work.

In her spare time, she enjoys socialising, cycling, going to the gym (she’s run Swindon Half Marathon more than once) and has recently taken up tap-dancing.

She is an experienced receptionist and has also had the role of company secretary with a previous employer.

In her spare time, Helen likes cycling and walking, and her super power is that she can touch her nose with her tongue.
