The legal team here at Optimum are specialists and experts, so we really know the ins and outs of our area of law: property law, wills and probate. And because we specialise in these areas, we can focus on the real issues that affect our clients daily: property sales and purchase, buying land, drawing up a will, dealing with probate, powers of attorney and so on. We offer the same approach to all our clients: we listen carefully, we use our expertise to come up with the best course of action for you, and we deal with your issue in a professional, responsive manner keeping you informed every step of the way.

Iain is our Head of Legal, overseeing Optimum’s busy legal department, which covers conveyancing, wills and probate.
During his career, Iain has worked with a range of clients across the South West and the UK, from large corporates to individuals and renewable energy providers. He was also part of the legal team working with the Homes and Communities Agency, helping with the regeneration of Swindon’s town centre.
His favourite pastime is skiing (he says it’s the adrenaline rush he loves). He admits he once entered another country without permission – but that’s all he will divulge!

Karen is our Conveyancing Executive, dealing with house sales, house purchases, re-mortgages and transfer of equity on behalf of her clients.
She has worked in the legal profession for more than 34 years, beginning as an office junior in a solicitors’ office when she left school.
Away from the office, Karen enjoys weekends away with her partner in their campervan going to shows and festivals – time for Karen to chill, relax, get some fresh air and enjoy a nice G&T or two!

As Optimum’s legal assistant, Amy supports the legal team, helping them to maintain the very high professional standards and service they give to our clients.
As well as working with us, Amy has been a dance teacher for nine years, and graduated from university in 2019 in performing arts.
She spends her time choreographing for her dance students, and for relaxation she enjoys reading.
Impressively, Amy can do the splits and one of her dance shows was more memorable than most because of a wardrobe malfunction with her skirt (she was only seven at the time).

Tracey is Optimum’s Practice Manager, who deals with everything from managing our client database to making sure we don’t run out of tea and coffee.
She has worked for most of her career in secretarial and admin roles, although briefly ran a pub with her partner but (in her words) “saw sense” and returned to office work.
In her spare time, she enjoys socialising, cycling, going to the gym (she’s run Swindon Half Marathon more than once) and has recently taken up tap-dancing.

She is an experienced receptionist and has also had the role of company secretary with a previous employer.
In her spare time, Helen likes cycling and walking, and her super power is that she can touch her nose with her tongue.

Spring is proving busy for Optimum, with the opening of our Cheltenham office and the takeover of a Stroud tax business. Our expansion into Gloucestershire is a natural move for the business, as three of our management team have all worked in the county previously and have many clients there.Read more
